Background: Obesity is one of the highly emerging chronic disease. It a major health concern now days. The BMI more than 35% adults were in overweight category 2008 but values are reported to be exceeded. study aimed assess relationship between body mass index and periodontitis. Study Design: cross-sectional with statistical approach, conducted at Karachi medical dental college, Material Methods: was on 200 patients visited dentist department hospital. for six month duration from Jan 2022 June 2022. ethical review board hospital approved study. Results: Among 200, 100 specimens belong normal weight category, 73 overweight, 27 obese category. In each all similar age groups, males present categories. Complete data analysis these performed. Then logistic regression performed, it predicted that periodontitis has direct relation (BMI). About 17% risk rate increases an increase unit BMI.
